Mart begins production from UMU-3 well

Mart Resources, Inc., an independent oil & gas company focusing on bringing African oil fields into production that are proven but have not yet been developed, commences initial oil production from the UMU-3 well located in the Umusadege field, onshore Nigeria.
Other partners in the field are Midwestern Oil and Gas Company PLC (Operator) and Suntrust Oil Company Nigeria Limited.
The well UMU-3, which commenced production on July 22, 2008, has produced an average of 1,000 barrels oil per day (bopd) into the Umusadege production facilities to complement production from the UMU-1 well.
Stabilised production rates from the UMU-3 well are expected to be achieved over the next month.
The company claims that with the addition of initial production from the UMU-3 well, total production from the Umusadege field has increased to approximately 3,200 bopd, with the UMU-1 well currently producing from individual zones for evaluation.
