Tethys commences testing at French well

Tethys commences testing at French well

Tethys Oil, a Swedish energy company focused on identification and development for production of oil and natural gas assets in the Middle East, North Africa and Europe, commences the testing of the well PLM-2 on the Attila license onshore Eastern France.

The well was drilled in October last year and the company found the presence of a total of 10.5 metres of net natural gas pay. At that time, the well was logged and an 80 metre zone of gross pay was identified.

However, the commercial viability of the well will be tested by a full scale production test set to commence during next week.

The company plans to complete the testing using a Schlumberger test unit within 3 weeks.

Tethys holds a 40 per cent stake in the Attila license, which is located in the oil and gas producing Paris basin about 250 kilometres east of Paris.

The remaining stake in the license is held by a private French oil company Galli Coz S.A.
