Gulf Keystone completes RM-1 well drilling

Gulf Keystone Petroleum Ltd, an independent oil and gas exploration company with interests in Algeria and Kurdistan, has completed the drilling of the RM-1 exploration well on the Hassi Ba Hamou Permit (HBH Permit) in Algeria.
The company found success after the well RM-1 reached a total depth of 1,111 metres on a separate prospect about 50 kilometres to the southeast of the HBH gas field.
The drilling results provided indication of a 61 meter gas column in sands of Siegenian age. The company has claimed that, during a production test, the well flowed gas at a stabilised flow rate of 10,266 cubic meters per hour (8.7 mmscf per day) through a 94/64-inch choke.
The company now has plans to move the drilling rig to drill well FEG-1, the third and final exploration well to be drilled in the current six well drilling campaign.
The company hopes to complete drilling process of this well within a month’s time.
