Petsec Energy advises that production has commenced from five of its six new wells in the Mobile Bay region of the Gulf of Mexico. The remaining Mobile Bay 950 well is expected to be brought into production shortly.
Well production levels will be announced once the wells have cleaned up and production rates have stabilised.
The Mobile Bay 873, 950, 951, 993, 994 and Viosca Knoll 26 gas fields were discovered by Petsec between October 2006 and March 2007. In May 2007, the nearby Main Pass 952 platform was acquired to act as a host facility for production from five of the six new wells, with the Mobile Bay 873 well being developed as a stand alone facility.
