Entek Energy commences GoM production

Entek Energy Limited announces that production has commenced on High Island 24-L Block in the Gulf of Mexico. As a result of Entek’s strategic approach to building value through low risk, high reward prospects, the Company is a participant with its US partners in new production in shallow waters in Texas State Waters in the Gulf of Mexico.

Production commenced from the High Island 24L block on October 18th 2007 USCST. Over a relatively short time (18 months), Entek and its partners have taken the High Island 24L prospect through bidding, drilling, discovery and field development, culminating in production startup and commissioning.

The Company recently bid two blocks in US Minerals Management Service, OCS Region, Central Gulf of Mexico Sale No. 205, held October 3rd 2007 and was high bidder on one block OCS G31602, Grand Banks Block 115. Whilst production from HI-24L commenced on October 18th 2007, full production rates will not be reached until commissioning of the new facilities is completed.
