The Tampen Link gas pipeline connecting the Anglo-Norwegian Statfjord field in the North Sea with the UK sector opened Friday evening, 12th of October.
Running for 23.1 kilometres, the line increases Norway’s ability to export gas from its continental shelf and will have a technical capacity of 25 million standard cubic metres per day.
Tampen Link ties Statfjord into Britain’s existing Far North Liquids and Associated Gas System (Flags), which runs to St Fergus in Scotland.
Gassco is operator for Tampen Link, which was incorporated in the company’s integrated network on the 1th of September 2007.
