Crude oil prices were lower on Tuesday.
October contracts for West Texas Intermediate on the New York Mercantile Exchange dropped 27 cents near the close of floor trade to $71.70 per barrel, while Brent crude for October delivery was 45 cents lower to $70.50 per barrel in the Intercontinental Exchange in London.
Nymex September gasoline fell 2 cents to $2.02 per gallon, while October heating oil dropped 1 cent, also to $2.02 per gallon.
October natural gas, on the other hand, rose 23 cents to $5.82 per million British thermal units.
