Gas discovery in Algeria

RWE Dea has discovered gas from a deep well with a depth of 5,116 meters in the Reggane North region, Block 351c and 352c. RWE Dea has been active in Algeria since 2003.
In addition to the other reservoirs already discovered, this geological formation adds to the regions gas reserves. Extensive exploration and evaluation work is in progress in the Reggane Basin.
The Reggane North concession is being exploited by the company in a consortium with Repsol YPF as operator, Sonatrach and Edison International, in which RWE Dea holds a 30% share. Since the formation of the consortium, Reggane-6 is the 4th well to produce gas.
RWE Dea is part of the RWE Group, one of Europe’s biggest energy corporations. Headquartered in Hamburg, Germany, the company deploys state-of-the-art drilling and production techniques and utilises the vast expertise acquired over more than 100 years of its corporate history. RWE Dea is active in exploration and production as operator and non operating partner in Germany, Egypt, the UK, Norway and Denmark and holds exploration licenses in Algeria, Libya and Poland.
